5 Stops to Consider on Your Visit to Oahu

5 places to visit in Oahu

My daughter Elisabeth recently took a trip to Hawaii and one of the islands she visited was Oahu. Here are 5 stops she made on her visit to Oahu that perhaps will give you some ideas of places you would like to see on your next Hawaiian adventure!

  1. Pearl Harbor Memorial and Museum – Can you believe that Pearl Harbor happened more than 70 years ago? Make sure to stop by this site on your visit in Oahu in remembrance of one of the most significant, tragic, and important events in US history.
  2. The Kualoa Ranch Movie Set Tour – Kualoa Ranch has this really awesome back lot tour where you hop on a vintage school bus and can view locations where 50 of Hollywood’s movies and TV shows were filmed. Just a few of the sets you will see include the infamous Jurassic Park fallen tree, Godzilla’s footprints, the famous “penguin” road site from 50 First Dates, the house structure from Mighty Joe Young, and numerous Hawaii Five-0 and LOST areas, like Hurley’s golf course! Depending on when you visit you might even get to see filming in progress!
  3. Manoa Falls – This is one of the most popular hikes in the Honolulu area and the reward at the end of the relatively easy 45-minute walk up the mountain is a gorgeous view of the 150- foot waterfall.
  4. Day cruise around the area – If you’re short on time, but want to see as much as possible, consider a cruise around the island. The cruise my daughter took cruised around Ka’a’awa Valley, Kualoa Valley and Hakipu’u Valley on the windward coast of the island of Oahu in Hawaii, but there are several day cruises available in the area.
  5. Have a Mai Tai at the Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian – What Hawaiian adventure would be complete without a tropical drink? If you like a good Mai Tai this stop is a must.
