Las Vegas: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but he will want to tell everyone about his birthday celebration when he gets home from Sin City.
The city is more than just slot machines and showgirls – although that’s a pretty fun way to spend a birthday too. The birthday boy can get his race on with a luxury car speed racing experience. Forget a midlife crisis, he can take a two-hour adventure driving a Porsche, Mercedes, Ferrari or Lamborghini around the track for five adrenaline pumping laps.
The quinquagenarian can still hit the slot machines and poker tables and try his hand at Lady Luck, eat at Guy Fieri or Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants and go ziplining down the Fremont Street Experience.
Daytona: If he would rather sit on the beach after a race, then head south to the Daytona International Raceway in Daytona, Florida. It’s the home of the Daytona 500, the most prestigious race in NASCAR as well as other racing events. When the checkered flag drops, let the birthday celebration begin!
New York City: Start spreading the news that it’s your birthday and you’re heading to the city to celebrate. A trip to the top of the Statue of Liberty or a walk through beautiful Central Park is a great way to celebrate your decades. If he’s a sports nut, you can take in a hockey game at Madison Square Garden or take a subway to either CitiField or Yankee Stadium and catch a ball game.
Yeehaw! If the soon-to-be 50-year-old is more of a Cowboy than a city slicker, take him to Montana where he can visit the Triple Creek Ranch, about 90 miles south of Missoula. It’s an adults-only, luxury, all-inclusive resort, or should we say, dude ranch, with cabins and leather couches, cowboy decorations and more. Don’t forget the homemade cookies.
Aruba: Sometimes all you need to celebrate your birthday is some time on a beach and Aruba is one of the most beautiful places in the world to do it. Make plans to sit on Hadicurari Beach, a rocky and windy beach with beautiful white sand that narrows the more you go to the north. Known for Fishermen Huts, you can also enjoy windsurfing and kiting, scuba diving and snorkeling. Once your birthday vacation is over, you’ll be ready for the next 50 years.
