School Group Trips

One of the services we offer here at Travel Makers is travel coordination for school groups. Whether you and your students have decided its time for an educational trip to the White House or an end of year celebratory trip to the Big Apple to see the Statue of Liberty, Travel Makers can assist you with all of your travel needs including flights, hotels, transportation and more.

Here are some tips and ideas to help you on your journey:

  1. Decide where you want to go as far in advance as possible. The sooner you decide on a destination, the sooner we can start discussing arrangements. Keep in mind that the further away you travel from the school will also determine whether this will be a road trip or require flying to the destination.
  2. Decide on a date and how long you will be gone. Keep in mind that travel dates during the week may be cheaper, but this will mean students will be missing school!
  3. Tally up how many people you expect to come with and don’t forget the chaperones! One of the biggest mistakes that can happen when guesstimating the number of travelers is forgetting to include the number of chaperones that will be coming along. The last thing you want is to not have a place for them to sit on the bus or worse, forgetting to add them to the flight roster.
  4. Once you have the time, dates and number of people we can start finalizing how much this trip will cost. Two notes on money:
    • The sooner you know the cost, the sooner you can begin hosting fundraisers to offset the bill. (Bonus! You can use the fundraisers as a prime team building opportunity.)
    • Give your students and chaperones plenty of time to come up with the money and make sure they pay in advance so you don’t end up stuck with any bills in the end.
  5. Book it, pay for it, and travel away!

I hope these ideas help you in planning your school’s group trips. Need more help planning? Give us a call and let’s get started coordinating your fantastic adventure!
